For more than 20 years, to audiences around the world, Pamela has been speaking the Truth of advaita, non-duality -- that the universe is one undivided whole. She has endeared herself to many through her lighthearted humor and compassion, and deep understanding of what it is to be human.
Why I Love Pamela
I first encountered Pamela when she was giving a spiritual discourse at what was maybe the first Science and Nonduality Conference back in 2009 or 2010. By then, I had been exposed to many nondual teachers, and it took just a few minutes to recognize in her an uncommon depth, integrity, and purity of heart. I loved her right away.
I loved her even more when I later discovered that she had a page on her website with links to maybe 20 other nondual teachers. Back then, such aggregated information was hard to come by. Just a handful of people were gathering and providing links to the various teachers — and Pamela was the only teacher doing so. To me, this actively demonstrated her deep recognition that wisdom has many faces and that hers was one voice among many. In this simple but deceptively important way, she combined consciousness and community in a way no other teacher I knew of was doing at the time.
Over the years I became lightly acquainted with Pamela through community events hosted by Open Circle. When she participated in my dialogue series, The Reality of Self Love, I appreciated her unique capacity to get absolutely right next to the profundity of the self-love idea, even though it wasn’t how she conceptualized or spoke about things.
